Feel a Different Kind of Thrill with This Capas ATV Adventure

Calling all thrill-seekers, aspiring thrill-seekers, and ambivalent thrill-seekers alike! If you are looking for a rush of adrenaline, without the crazy life-threatening risks involved, you might want to check out this fun activity in Capas, Tarlac. Only a few hours away from Manila, Capas ATV Adventure offers different packages designed to satiate your need for speed while taking you through some breathtaking experiences. Curious? Here’s what to expect when you go for a ride of a lifetime.

Choose your adventure

Capas ATV Adventure has 4 different packages, catering to varying levels of experience (or guts!). The Lahar Short Trail is the cheapest and easiest, ideal for beginner ATV riders or those who have limited time. The Tambo Lake drive, meanwhile, is a good balance between relatively easy riding through lahar planes, streams, and short rivers. It is 2-3 hours long and ends in peaceful Tambo Lake, where you can relax and even opt to go fishing. The third option is to Maruglo Falls, a 10 km long ride lasting 3 hours. And for those with real determination, the Pinatubo Crater ride is 7 hours long and is a more hardcore alternative to the usual 4×4 rides to Mt. Pinatubo.

Pick your ride

For each Capas ATV Adventure package, you can also select between 3 vehicle options: the 550 CC Terralander, the 600 CC Rancher, and the 650 CC Terracross. The Terralander, the smallest and least powerful of the 3 ATV’s, starts at Php1800, while the Rancher and Terracross start at Php2100 and Php2300 respectively. The latter are more expensive thanks to their bigger engines, which signify more power. They also offer more protection, with roofs and windshields, and are steered like cars – unlike the Terralander, which are your classic ATV’s.

Set the pace

What’s so great about the Capas ATV Adventure is that you get to set your own pace. Since you’ll be driving yourself, you can go as fast or as slow as you can. You can also stop when you like to take photos of the stunning landscape. Driving ATV’s through this unique terrain is also a learning experience. Where else do you get to drive between giant boulders, gushing streams, and lahar valleys? Navigating through these terrains is sure to teach you a thing or two about handling. Whether you’re a speed junkie or you like to take it slow, it’s sure to be an eventful and memorable ride.

Enjoy the view

Each adventure package not only takes you to a sight in Tarlac but also lets you drive through one of its biggest tourist attractions. The mountains of lahar standing tall on each side of deep gorges are unlike any other landscape in the Philippines. Depending on the weather or time of day, it could even look like driving through Mordor. That said, the destinations of each adventure package take you to serene and secluded spots where you can rest, stretch out, and take your time. For instance in Tambo Lake, you can still see Aetas living peacefully nearby.
