Requirements

Your sponsor is required to provide a few documents – apart from application forms and supporting documents from you – to aid your application. These include a letter of invitation, the ID number of their Elektronische Verpflichtungserklärung or EVE, proof of financial means, and proof of relationship among others.

If the sponsor is not a parent, spouse, or child, proof of relationship includes the sponsor’s passport biodata page and travel history. One or two pages worth of photos of you and the sponsor together also help establish that you’ve known each other over a period of time.

Requirements

There are a few differing requirements between the 3 countries with regards to Schengen visa with sponsor. Apart from the general requirements from the applicant (such as copies of passport, flight reservations, and travel insurance), as well as proof of relationship with the sponsor, Belgium specifically requires an Original Affidavit of Support or “BIJLAGE 3bis / Annexe 3bis” legalized by the municipality where the sponsor resides. They also require a copy of a Belgian ID card or Resident card, Family Composition of the sponsor to be obtained at their municipality, and their proof of income for the past 3 months.

For Slovenia and Luxembourg, additional documents may be asked from the applicant after their initial submission. This may include a marriage or birth certificate with the sponsor and an official letter of guarantee if the sponsor is funding your trip.

Requirements

Just like all the other states, Schengen visa requirements for Czech Republic include the application forms, passport, certificate of employment, round trip flight reservations, and travel insurance covering at least EU30,000. People applying for a short term visa, or Visa C, with an invitation from a Czech or Slovak national also have to submit an Official Invitation Form certified by their sponsor’s local branch of Czech Alien and Border Police.

In the absence of an Official Invitation Form, the sponsor is required to submit an original bank account statement dated back 3 months. However, the embassy states that the Official Invitation Form is strongly preferred.

Requirements

General requirements for a short stay visa to Denmark include original and photocopied passport, including the biodata page and all used pages. Flight reservations and travel insurance from an EU accredited insurance provider are also required. Finally, proof of ties to home such as financial solvency or family ties are expected, as well.

Depending on who you are visiting in Denmark, you will also need to provide birth certificates or marriage certificates. If you are visiting a distant relative, you can submit both your and the sponsors birth certificates as well as other reference persons. If you are a boyfriend, girlfriend, or friend, you are required to submit copies of passport stamps as well as photos of you and your sponsor proving that you have spent time together. Sponsors are also encouraged to fill out the VU2 form instead of a simple letter of invitation.

Requirements

Along with a passport with at least 3 months validity upon the conclusion of trip, travel health insurance equivalent to a EU30,000 coverage, and proof of your ties to the Philippines, you also have to submit proof of your relationship with the person you are visiting.

If you are the child or parent of the host, or a spouse of the host, you must submit birth certificates or marriage certificates which substantiate your relationship. If you are not under a formalized relationship, meaning you are in nothing legally binding, you may provide others proof of your relationship with you sponsor. This includes electronic or written correspondence, flight stamps of trips together, or photos of you together.

Your sponsor is also required to provide the original and photocopy of a Formal Obligation according to §§ 66-68 of the German Residence Law acquired by your sponsor at the aliens authority responsible for their area of residence.

Requirements

Flight reservations and travel insurance for Schengen are required, along with your travel documents, proof of financial means, and employment status. On top of this, you are also required to submit documents from your Greek or Portuguese host regarding the details of your invitation. This includes a signed original invitation letter addressed to the Consular Section. This must guarantee repatriation and contain dates of travel. This must also assure accommodation and expenses. It must be accompanied by a photocopy of the signatory’s passport.

If you will be sponsored by a Greek citizen, they must also provide a Solemn Declaration or “Υπεύθυνη Δήλωση” with their authenticated signature. If sponsored by a Portuguese citizen, they must provide a “Termo de Responsibilidade”.

Hungary

Starting in June 2016, the Embassy of Hungary has reopened in Manila after 2 decades. In July 2017, it has also reopened its consular services for Filipinos wanting to apply for visas to Hungary. Short stay Schengen visa applications to Hungary are now processed directly by the embassy in Manila. (This used to be under the jurisdiction of the Embassy of Belgium.)

Requirements

Travel document, proof of financial coverage of expenses, travel insurance, and flight reservations are all part of Schengen visa requirements to Hungary. Tourists visiting friends – including boyfriends or girlfriends – and relatives are also required to submit a “letter of invitation issued and endorsed by the Office of Immigration and Nationality or the letter of invitation in the form of a public notarial document and a photocopy of the personal identification document/passport of the inviting party in Hungary.”

On top of these, first degree family members (parents, children, siblings) and spouses of Hungarian nationals are also required to submit a letter stating full awareness of criminal liability and describing the degree of their relationship. It must include the name, address, and contact number of the relative in Hungary.

Schengen visa with sponsor to Italy are handled by the Embassy of Italy Manila. There are two ways to submit your application: first is directly through the embassy’s Visa Services, second is through VIA PH, a third party visa information and application center. There are slight differences in the application process for each method, so make sure to carefully read the instructions for whichever method you plan to take.

Requirements

Applicants who are being sponsored by an Italian citizen are required to provide a Letter of Invitation signed by the host. They are also required to provide a copy of the host’s proof of identity, such as a national ID or permanent residence card. If you are to be sponsored by a relative, NSO certificates stating your relationship must also be submitted.

On top of these, general requirements include passport with at least 3 months validity after last date of intended visit, proof of financial solvency, proof of employment, roundtrip flight reservations, and travel insurance valid for the whole Schengen region with coverage of at least EU30,000.

  1. If you are planning to apply directly at the Embassy of Italy Manila, you must first make an appointment via this link. Appointments are usually scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00AM to 1:00PM and 2:00PM to 5:30PM; or Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:00AM to 2:00PM.   2. If you are planning to apply via Italy’s partner visa center in the Philippines, VIA PH, you do not need to make an appointment in advance. They accept walk-ins for Italian visa applications. This means you can go to their office any time and submit your application.
  3. Fill the application forms and gather your supporting documents. Submitted applications must be complete, or else they will be returned to you and not processed.

Malta

Schengen visa applications from the Philippines to Malta are handled by the Maltese Embassy Beijing. However, Malta uses the service of VFS Global as their Visa Application Center in Manila. Requirements

Invitees of Malta citizens or residents must provide the original signed Invitation Letter, stating the applicant’s purpose of travel, dates of travel, and address of applicant’s accommodations. This must also be stated in the letter if your sponsor is shouldering the expenses of the trip.

You are also required to show proof of relationship with your sponsor by submitting a notarized certificate of family relationship legalized by the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs. This could be in the form of birth certificates or marriage certificates. If the sponsor is a friend, boyfriend/girlfriend, or distant relative, you may submit copies of your personal communication, original photos together, and copies of passport stamps showing your travels together.

If the sponsor is financing the trip, you are required to submit a Declaration of Proof, which they must have notarized. This should include a copy of their ID card or the biodata page of the passport, proof of residence, and proof of income.

Just like other countries’, Schengen visa requirements Switzerland also include passport that’s valid for 3 months after the completion of your trip, travel health insurance with a coverage of EU30,000, confirmed roundtrip flight reservations, proof of income, and proof of employment. They also ask for photocopies of all your current and expired visas.

If you are being sponsored by a Swiss national, you are also required to provide a signed Letter of Invitation from your host indicating your information (full name, birthdate, full address, relationship) and your host’s information (full name, full address). It must also state the details of your stay such as travel dates, accommodation, and your host’s guarantee. You must submit this together with a copy of your host’s passport or National ID card or Residence.
