Surfista Siargao Island Surf Camp
Renowned surf school Surfista Travels is back at it again, with a new set of surf camps for the month of August. Whatever your skill level, you can master your stance, ride the waves, and get some stoke in their fun and intensive course. Five private lessons, accommodations for 6 days/5 nights at Turtle Surf Camp, tours of nearby islands, gear rental, envy-inducing photos, new friends, and epic memories come with their packages, as well as souvenirs from Surfista Travels and their sponsors. After surfing classes, participants can soak in the chill Siargao vibe, hang by the pool, explore the area, or surf some more!
Family Food Fun
Mommies and mommies-to-be are welcome to this workshop hosted by LATCH Los Banos and led by Ines Fernandez or “Nanay Ines” of Arugaan. Family Food Fun is all about preparing nutritious meals made from healthy, local ingredients for babies about to transition to solid food. Nanay Ines is a pioneer in teaching mothers around the country about responsible parenthood, as well as sustainable and indigenous ways to provide nutrition for babies. During the workshop, different techniques on integrating early childhood care and development will also be discussed.
Philippine Drone Nationals
Are you a drone pilot or enthusiast looking to take your game to the next level? The Philippine Drone Nationals is a nation-wide drone race where qualifying drones compete for some awesome prizes and a coveted spot on the Droneworlds Race in Hawaii, USA. Participants have to edge out competitors in three days of tough races over a qualifying round and 5 heats in the championship round. Those interested are required to make prior reservations as on-site registration is not allowed.
Tribes and Treks
Make your next trip to Zambales more worthwhile by joining an outreach program. MAD (Make A Difference) Travel has come up with an opportunity to reach out to the Aeta community in the village of Yangil. Assist in the rebuilding of a 3000 hectare rainforest which will not only fight climate change but provide food, medicine and income to the community. Fee includes transfers within Zambales, lunch and snacks, activities such as planting trees, swimming, trekking, archery, and tribal dance.
Eat and Run! At Cebu Business Park
After a long and tiring run, can you image a better reward than regaining all your spent energy through an eat-all-you-can meal? Bachata Beginners Class Part 2
Turn up the heat as you learn to jive to the music in this beginners’ class for Bachata dancing. Originating from the Dominican Republic, this lively and steamy Latin dance is fast-becoming an international craze and has even reached the dance floors of Cebu’s Maya Mexican Restaurant. Under the instruction of Australian Brendan Varden, learn the steps, movements, and other elements that define bachata and make it the dance everyone wants to dance. The class is open to 30 participants, so reserve your slot now!
Bike for a Cause
Mountain bikers, city racers, and all pedal-pushers in between, gear up and get your heartrate going in R.O.X.’s Bike for a Cause. The 30km and 50km routes are not only set to make your day fun and productive, but also a day full of charity and giving. If you can’t make it however, there’s still a way to participate in the fundraiser by donating old gear in any R.O.X. branch nationwide. Helmets, gloves, bells, pumps, and blinkers are all welcome as long as they are still in good condition. Proceeds of these efforts will benefit the Concepcion Integrated School in San Simon, Pampanga.
Kadayawan NCX Bazaar and Food Fest
As if Davao City’s annual Kadayawan Festival isn’t fun enough, this year it’s set to be bigger and better than ever with one, big, awesome street party. Apart from dance competitions, indigenous music exhibitions, street parties, and a floral float parade, there will also be a grand food fest and bazaar. The event will also be a venue for start-ups to pitch their products to potential investors and get much-needed backing and guidance from influential members of the industry. Business matching will also happen at the event, where different startups could network with each other and more established companies in order to collaborate with projects. All this happens by the beach to keep things relaxed, inspiring, and motivating.
Forest Hack 2016
A healthy ecology relies on the delicate balance and careful nurture of nature’s many elements. Unfortunately, it is no secret than one of the first to suffer human abuse are our forests, which are prone to illegal logging, excessive clearing, and encroachment. This year, through partnerships by different organizations in the public and private sectors, Forest Hack 2016 was formed. It’s centered on a competition by teams of students as they create software and systems aimed at consolidating and disseminating information related to forestry issues the country is facing. The idea is to analyze problems, provide solutions, and put it in such a way that is relevant and helpful to end users. The competition is open to all students who are currently registered to any college or university.

The Paradise Run Bohol International Marathon

Join this back-to-back workshop that will tackle on the fundamentals behind clear-stamping and heat embossing plus a couple of advanced techniques. Crafters will be able to take their skills up a notch as you learn topics including: proper use of clear stamps, various inks depending on projects or application, stamp-layering and finally how to apply heat-embossing to these stamped artworks. Participants will be able to execute their learnings on two projects which will be presented in class. Fee includes a complete art kit, two sets of snacks (pasta and sandwich) and class handouts.
